The MSM strikes back — Project Veritas

Washington Post exposes fake Roy Moore accuser

A reporter confronts Phillips about her Roy Moore story.

This wasn't the only dishonest attempt at discrediting the women coming forward against Moore. He's not the only one in the administration to have alluded to Project Veritas before, either. The organisation's founder, James O'Keefe, declined to answer questions from Post reporters. It's something newspaper reporters learn on Day 1 in college journalism (or possibly Day 2 if the professor is more inclined to discuss "who, what, where, when, why and how" of news writing).

Elsewhere in the story, they also report that Phillips's "email address included 'rolltide, ' the rallying cry of the University of Alabama's sports teams, which are nicknamed the Crimson Tide".

The Post reported that a woman shared a dramatic story - which could not be substantiated - that Moore impregnated her when she was a teenager in 1992 and that she later had an abortion. Reinhard told her in a subsequent text message that she could not predict what the impact would be.

'Underdog' Huskers seeded fifth for NCAA Tournament
The Red Raiders wrapped up the 2017 regular season at 15-14 and 4-12 in Big 12 play for Tech's first winning regular-season 2001. Purdue has never lost in the first match of the NCAA Tournament and boasts a 20-11 record in the postseason under Shondell.

Except, the Moore story isn't fake news.

Phillips complained that President Trump had endorsed Moore. This latest instance, however, takes things to a whole new level. Said Lucian Wintrich, a correspondent for Gateway Pundit: "I do think that video that WaPo released shows how manipulative their reporters are". Moore's alleged misconduct came to light after an investigation by The Washington Post, which recounted stories of women who claimed Moore molested or harassed girls as young as 14. It didn't happen, but she kept pressing the point in a way that would make any reporter nervous.

Last October, ThinkProgress reported that Project Veritas had received a $10,000 donation in 2015 from Donald Trump's controversial Donald J. Trump Foundation, a theoretically charitable 501 (c)(3) organization. The Post may be the preeminent news organization in the nation's capital, it may have more people covering events than nearly any organization not called The New York Times, but the essence of what they do - finding out what's going on of importance to their audience and giving honest, objective and fearless reports about it - still happens every hour of every day in this country from small towns to big cities.

But sceptical Post reporters uncovered discrepancies in Ms Phillips' account, including a GoFundMe page for someone of the same name seeking money for a move to NY so she could "work in the conservative media movement to combat the lies and deceipt [sic] of the liberal" mainstream media. She named a woman named Kathy Johnson as her contact.

Teenage fugitive sought in death of grandmother found buried in backyard
She the station that the last time she spoke to her son was Sunday night, and everything seemed fine. The couple started to worry when Logan and his grandmother failed to pick them up from the airport.

The Post, while asking Phillips for documents and corroboration, uncovered discrepancies in her account, including a GoFundMe page in which she said would be joining the conservative media movement.

Then came the smoking gun: Post researchers discovered a fundraising page made by Phillips seeking financial support for a move to NY. One of the donors to it matches Phillips's daughter name, according to public records.

On Monday night, the video arrived. They did what thousands of journalists do every day. But that's already been The Post. Post executive editor Martin Baron justified the move by saying that Ms Phillips had not sought an off-the-record talk in "good faith".

The group ultimately ended up where it started - with "Democracy Dies in Darkness".
