Ben Stokes On His Way To New Zealand

The prodigious all-rounder is now suspended pending a police investigation into an alleged assault which saw him dropped from the national squad for The Ashes series against Australia.

Stokes may get some playing time under his belt in New Zealand, however, with provincial team Canterbury confirming it had been in "initial discussions" with his representatives.

England cricket chiefs Tuesday said suspended all-rounder Ben Stokes was visiting family in New Zealand and not heading to Australia after he was apparently spotted leaving London's Heathrow airport.

Canterbury's next fixture is on Sunday, which is the second day of the second Ashes Test.

British media then reported that Stokes is travelling to Christchurch, New Zealand to visit his parents Barbara and Gerard Stokes. His travel has not been arranged by the European Central Bank.
