Report: Florida targeting Dan Mullen to fill head coaching vacancy

Florida is reportedly finalizing a deal with Dan Mullen to be the next head coach, according to multuple outlets.

Yahoo Sports & ESPN have reported that Florida is targeting Mullen to be their new head coach.

According to Thamel, a decision is expected to be made by "the end of the day" on Sunday.

The 45-year-old Mullen was hired after the second title by the Bulldogs and has a 69-46 record in nine seasons at the school.

When the UF job opened up following Will Muschamp's 2014 firing, former Gators AD Jeremy Foley immediately ruled out Mullen and Arizona coach Rich Rodriguez as candidates.
