Charlie Rose fired by CBS following sexual harassment allegations

CBS suspends Charlie Rose; PBS halts his show after allegations

PBS announced Tuesday that it has dropped The Charlie Rose Show, a decision following reports of the longtime talk show host's harassment of women.

Two women who worked for Mr Rose said he walked naked in front of them, and another said she was groped by him at a party.

The suspension was also acknowledged Monday on CBS Evening News, where interim anchor Anthony Mason said "the wave of sexual abuse allegations we've been reporting from Hollywood to Washington have now touched CBS News".

"By the time he touched me the first time, he was already very angry", she told the Post.

She noted, "Oprah called me and said, 'Are you okay?' I am not okay". That said, Charlie does not get a pass here ...

Trump calls for Lynch to be suspended as anthem row returns
Great disrespect! [The] next time the National Football League should suspend him for remainder of season. This is also the second day in a row that Trump has harangued a black sports star.

Rose had co-hosted "CBS This Morning" since 2012 and appeared on PBS since 1991. It is systematic and pervasive and I've been doing a lot of listening, and I'm going to continue to do that.

It is unknown if the network is commissioning a formal investigation into who knew what about the misconduct allegations, and when they may have known it.

"There are striking commonalities in the accounts of the women, each of whom described their interactions with Rose in multiple interviews with The Post", the newspaper points out. PBS and Bloomberg have also suspended him.

"I am not okay", his co-host Gayle King stated before adding that she hasn't been sleeping since the Washington Post reported eight women accused Rose of harassing them sexually.

Rose took a leave of absence from CBS This Morning in February to undergo heart surgery to replace an artificial aortic valve.

At the end of the performance, Gomez shrugged and mouthed "thank you" after receiving some applause from the star-studded crowd. Gomez started the performance on the floor, crawling across the stage in an emotional rendition of her song.

In a statement, Rose apologised and said he was "greatly embarrassed".

Several women accused Rose of touching them on the breasts, buttocks or thigh, emerging naked from a shower when they were working at his residence and, in one case, calling a 21-year-old staffer to tell his fantasies of seeing her swim in the nude. Rose subsequently apologized for his actions but downplayed their significance in a brief videotaped exchange published by TMZ.

"I have behaved insensitively at times, and I accept responsibility for that, though I do not believe that all of these allegations are accurate", said Rose.

"I failed", said Vega. "I always felt that I was pursuing shared feelings, even though I now realize I was mistaken", Rose said in a statement to the Post.

'I have learned a great deal as a result of these events and I hope others will too.

Paul Merson has managerial advice for Everton
The Hornets host West Ham tomorrow and the Portuguese is top of the Toffees' managerial wish list. Former Everton defender Richard Dunne said: 'They have had enough time to sort it out.

Rose said he had now "come to a profound new respect for women and their lives".
