Four dead after helicopter and light aircraft crash

A helicopter and an aircraft have been involved in a mid-air collision over Buckinghamshire, with the ambulance service confirming a "number of casualties".

In a statement, Thames Valley Police said: "We are aware of a number of casualties following an incident this afternoon in Waddesdon, near Aylesbury".

"We sent a number of resources to the scene, including the Thames Valley air ambulance, two ambulance crews, two ambulance officers and a rapid response vehicle", said a spokeswoman.

Buckinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service confirmed they were at the scene where the aircraft, which is believed to include a light aircraft, crashed, reportedly at a low altitude, near Waddesdon Manor, Aylesbury.

A nearby military base, RAF Halton, also said no military aircraft were involved.

A police cordon remained in place outside the entrance to the Waddesdon estate on Friday night.
