Special counsel's interest in Mike Flynn comes into sharper focus

Michael Flynn and his son Michael G. Flynn are reportedly being probed by Speical Counsel Robert Mueller over a kidnapping plan to snatch a cleric away from the U.S. and deliver him to the Turkish government

According to the Wall Street Journal, special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation is focusing on a meeting in mid-December between Mr Flynn and Turkish officials in NY.

As part of Special Counsel Robert Mueller's probe into Russian interference with US elections, witnesses were questioned about the alleged December 2016 meeting between Flynn and senior Turkish officials at the "21" club in NY, not far from Trump Tower, sources told NBC. Gulen has denied any role in the coup.

Reduced Alcohol Intake May Prevent The Chances of Developing Cancer
As of 2009, excessive alcohol consumption was attributed to almost 3.5 percent of all cancer-related deaths. Alcohol has been shown to increase estrogen levels, thus putting women at greater risk of breast cancer .

The alleged December meeting followed one on September 19 attended by people including Berat Albayrak, who is Turkey's energy minister and the son-in-law of Erdogan, and Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu, according to the Journal.

"One person familiar with the alleged discussions about Mr. Gulen said Mr. Flynn also was prepared to use his influence in the White House to further the legal extradition of the cleric, who lives in Pennsylvania", WSJ added.

Robert Mueller, the special counsel investigating Russian manipulation of the 2016 United States election, has already indicted Trump's former campaign manager and another senior fundraiser on charges including money laundering and a former foreign policy adviser has pleaded guilty to perjury.

All the while new reports regarding the investigation's latest developments continue to turn up, like a recent Wall Street Journal article detailing a lucrative financial deal between the Flynns and Turkey. President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and the government seeks Gulen's extradition from the USA however Washington has made clear so far that enough evidence backing up Gulen's involvement in the failed takeover has yet to be delivered.

The December meeting about Gulen was also reported Friday by NBC, which cited people familiar with the probe.

"The claim made by Mr. Woolsey that General Flynn, or anyone else in attendance, discussed physical removal of Mr. Gulen from the United States during a meeting with Turkish officials in NY is false", Flynn spokesman Price Floyd said in a statement at the time.

If proven, the alleged plan to kidnap the cleric with the aid of foreign money directly violates U.S. criminal code and could result in up to a 20-year sentence for the Flynns, according to Michael Zeldin, a CNN legal analyst. It was revealed afterward that during the election and transition Flynn was working as a foreign agent on behalf of Turkey. The well-compensated lobbying work Flynn Intel Group did for foreign governments has come under close scrutiny by Mueller's team. The Daily Caller has reported that Flynn was contacted by DOJ's National Security Division on November 30. Flynn had written an op-ed in The Hill on Election Day calling on the USA government to extradite Gulen.
