It was not immediately clear how many of Netflix's more than 109 million worldwide subscribers have received the email.

A new Netflix email scam has reportedly been targeting the popular streaming service's millions of subscribers, falsely informing them that their accounts are on the verge of being suspended.

The email asks its readers to click the link, leading them to a fake Netflix homepage and prompting them to enter their private information, according to MailGuard, an Australian cybersecurity firm.

Page Testimony Offers New Details On July 2016 Trip
Some of his meals were also taken care of, according to Page's testimony, though some he paid for himself. The two men had a brief interaction at the commencement ceremony, where Dvorkovich also spoke, Page said.

This is not the first time Netflix subscribers have been targeted. According to a report from Deadline, scammers are firing off emails with the subject line "Your suspension notification" to masses of people.

Netflix officials say the company does not ask for any personal information to be sent to over email, including account passwords, Social Security numbers or credit/debit card information. In order to verify any emails about billing or other information, Netflix said one could put their cursor over whatever link is in the note and see the real address at the bottom of their browser.

Though the email looks very convincing, on a closer look, it does give away some hints such as odd wording and unwanted request for such sensitive information.

NSW Police Acting Assistant Commissioner Stuart Smith told reporters at the scene: "Obviously, this is a very, very tragic event". The driver, who did not require medical treatment, was taken to hospital for mandatory blood and urine tests.

The company has reportedly stated that they take "the security of our members' accounts seriously and employs numerous proactive measures to detect fraudulent activity to keep the Netflix service and members' accounts secure".

A scam email has appeared today that is pretending to be from Netflix.
