21st Century Fox shares jumped by as much as 8.5% on Monday afternoon after a report that the company had recently been in talks to sell most of its assets to Disney. According to the report, there's no certainty a deal would happen, and the two sides are not now talking. If a deal were to be worked out, Disney would also take control of Fox's TV production wing as well as global assets.

Amid that trend, Fox is open to such a deal with Disney amid senior management's growing sentiment that scale is of "immediate importance", said CNBC.

Jaguars make an example out of rookie RB Leonard Fournette
Green and Jacksonville Jaguars cornerback Jalen Ramsey were each ejected after a massive brawl that broke out during the game. Jaydon Mickens put the exclamation point on the game for the Jaguars with a 63-yard punt return with 14:35 remaining.

For Disney, the opportunity to take control of another movie studio and significant TV production assets as it readies a direct to consumer entertainment streaming offering is attractive as is fox's significant exposure to worldwide markets, such as the U.K., Germany and Italy both through its networks and 30 percent ownership of B Sky B.

For Disney, buying up Fox's film and TV production assets along with its cable networks would give the company added scale and content as it prepares to launch its own branded streaming service in 2019. In animation, Fox also has the Ice Age franchise.

"When asked how much Twenty-First Century Fox's mentioned assets will cost she replied, "$20 billion. That deal is now undergoing review by United Kingdom regulators. Fox's sports channels would also not be combined with ESPN to avoid anti-trust scrutiny. Currently, Disney owns the Marvel, Pixar, and Star Wars catalogs.

The Walt Disney Company has reportedly been in discussions with 21st Century Fox about buying a significant portion of Fox's film and television business.

Now, Paz de la Huerta alleges Harvey Weinstein raped her twice
In the past month, more than 60 women have come forward with allegations of sexual harassment or assault against Weinstein. Chief of Detectives Robert Boyce said Friday that investigators have interviewed actress Paz de la Huerta .

There's also the question of what it would mean for Fox to be focused even more on news and sports. And more resources could perhaps be diverted to sports in a leaner company, allowing Fox to possibly pick up bigger rights packages.
