Pilots killed after Russian jet rolls of runway in Syria's Hmeymim

An Su-24 military aircraft has crashed at Khmeimim Airbase in Syria after overshooting the runway, the Russian Defense Ministry reports.

A Russian military jet crashed on Tuesday while taking off Syria's Hmeimim base, Russian news agencies said. The crew aboard the two-seater aircraft was unable to eject and was killed, the spokesperson added. The crew has been killed.

"On October 10, during acceleration for takeoff from the airfield of Hmeymim (Syria), a Su-24 aircraft skidded off the runway".
