Prankster and coughing: British PM's nightmare speech

Theresa May to unveil house building plans in conference speech

Former Tory chairman Grant Shapps was revealed overnight as one of those behind the bid to remove the Prime Minister from office but has been blasted by MPs. In his interview, Vaizey, who supported staying in the European Union at last year's referendum, said the Conservative Party is "split down the middle" on Brexit "and that's very bad for the country".

"They are Remainers, they are Brexiteers", he told BBC Radio 4's Today programme.

He said May's bungled election, her failure to unite the cabinet and a poor party conference are the main reasons that up to 30 Conservative lawmakers backed the bid to tell May to go.

She called the snap vote but ended up losing her parliamentary majority and her cabinet has been riven with divisions over Brexit strategy in recent weeks. However this still falls short of the 48 needed to spark a contest under party rules.

He said on Friday his party "must look for a new leader".

For now, it's unknown how this destination shift will affect NASA's long-term plans. We will refocus America's space program toward human exploration and discovery.

Most of the Scottish papers lead with Theresa May's speech at the Conservative Party conference which is described as a "shambles" and a "farce".

May's speech was also marred by a comedian - who mid-way handed her a P45 (better known as the letter of termination of employment) - and letters falling off the bold slogan behind her.

She was given supportive applause by Tory activists as she carried on with the speech, which she hopes will restore her authority after the setback at the general election.

"I know that she is as determined as ever to get on with her job - she sees it as her duty to do so". He claimed Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson, who has clashed with May over Brexit, told him to do it.

May, meanwhile, is recovering from her cold and cough that ruined her party speech at home in her Maidenhead constituency before spending the weekend at the prime minister's country retreat in Chequers.

Burning NFL gear in protest: It just makes no sense
Thinking of football, we normally consider tailgates and touchdowns to be the attractions of one of America's most popular sports. Three years later, the 2017 football season has nearly entirely changed my beliefs on what the league could possibly stand for.

The i newspaper writes that coughing fits, a man handing her a P45 and a collapsing stage-set ruined May's key address.

She went on to deliver a call for a "modern, compassionate Britain" and announced for an independent review of the Mental Health Act.

But she is under growing pressure over negotiations in Brussels, while the increasing popularity of Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn poses a threat.

Even before the conference, May was facing a not-so-veiled threat to her leadership from the ambitious Boris Johnson using the Brexit card. But May's distress appeared to rouse the delegates, who gave her repeated standing ovations - and when she could not speak, urged her on by shouting "Come on, prime minister!".
