PSG to face UEFA FFP investigation following Neymar and Mbappe transfers

PSG reply to UEFA

The deal had been on the cards for a some time and was all but finalized last week, but an official announcement was held up while the Paris club worked to find way around UEFA's Financial Fair Play (FFP) rules, which are meant to prevent clubs from spending much more than they earn in a single season.

Kylian Mbappe's much-anticipated move to Paris Saint-Germain finally went through on Thursday evening with Monaco loaning the 18-year-old forward until the end of the season along with an option to make the move permanent.

The Ligue 1 side also brought in Dani Alves from Juventus this summer, who reportedly joined on a deal worth £12 million a year, per Jonathan Smith at ESPN FC.

As a result of that deal, they could not also afford to sign Mbappe and stay within UEFA's Financial Fair Play (FFP) regulations, hence the move is simply a loan to begin with.

Mumbai Building Collapse Kills At Least Seven
This recent building collapse sheds more light on the poor standards of building construction in India. Building collapses are not uncommon in India; there have been three in the past month in Mumbai alone.

UEFA announced on Friday that it would investigate PSG, "particularly in light of its recent transfer activity", although the club themselves have expressed surprise at the move.

The Uefa statement said the investigatory chamber " will regularly meet in order to carefully evaluate all documentation pertaining to this case".

"UEFA considers Financial Fair Play to be a crucial governance mechanism which aims to ensure the financial sustainability of European club football", the ruling body added.

UEFA will not give any further comments on this matter as the investigation is now ongoing.

Hurricane Harvey disaster relief telethon continues
If people are interested in getting involved to help with future disasters, the first step is to register and start training. She also said the Red Cross is using lessons learned from Haiti as it deals with responding to Harvey and other disasters.

On Sunday night PSG concluded a deal in which Mbappé would join the club on an initial loan but without an obligation to buy.

This is PSG's last flex in a summer of flexes, and some of the world's best attacking players will be frustrated with lack of playing time in this set-up.

However, Mbappe has revealed he signed for Monaco's league rivals PSG as he wanted to be "part of the club's project, which is one of the most ambitious in Europe", according to a statement. "Alongside my new teammates, I intend to continue my progression while helping the team achieve the very big objectives it has set itself".

"Among players of his age, he is without doubt the most promising in the world due to his enormous technical, physical and mental qualities", PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi said.

Ron Renkoski: Use Donald Trump's own cash for wall
Harvey's cost could reach $ 42 billion , Chuck Watson, a disaster modeler with Enki Research, said in a note to clients Tuesday. In 2012, for example, a majority of Republicans voted against sending aid to NY and New Jersey after Superstorm Sandy.

Mbappe's meteoric rise last season was even more remarkable considering that, at the start of last season, he was in Monaco's reserves. Mbappe's signing hours before the transfer deadline closed came shortly after PSG sold Serge Aurier to Tottenham to help cater for Neymar and Mbappe.
