Trapped by Hurricane Harvey, These Bakers Made Bread for Flood Victims

Jorge Agundis and his fellow bakers were trapped in their bakery — so they started cooking

They baked dozens of sheets of pan dulce to feed victims of the storm.

"When they realized they were stuck, they chose to keep themselves busy and help the community and made as many loaves of bread as they could", manager Brian Alvarado told The Independent.

"They started making bread and Saturday night it rained so bad that they got trapped", owner Kirk Michaelis told USA Today. The bakery didn't calculate exactly how much, but it had at least 4,400 pounds of flour on hand when the group got trapped.

The bakery posted on Facebook earlier today that it is "open at all locations until we run out of bread".
