Stephen Colbert labels Donald Trump as 'racist grandpa' president

Stephen Colbert

Stephen Colbert opened Monday night's Late Show remarking on the country's bad weekend in which white supremacists from around the country, armed with shields, clubs, body armor, and automatic weaponry, descended on Charlottesville, Virginia, to hold a rally they called "Unite the Right".

One day after it took Donald Trump two days to (sort of) condemn the white supremacists who rallied in Charlottesville (and killed a woman), one might think that the guy ousted White House communications laughingstock Anthony Scaramucci once called "the most media-savvy person of our times" would lay low. "Nobody wants to say it, but I will say it right now", in what some viewed as an attempt to placate white supremacist groups.

"Donald Trump drove America's moral leadership right through the guardrails by saying some of the people bearing torches with the Nazis were just good Joes", Colbert said of Trump's equivocation.

At the press conference, Trump told the press, "If the press were not fake and if it was honest, the press would have said what I said was very nice".

On Tuesday's Late Show, the host criticized Trump for saying he has "no doubt about" the white nationalists, Neo-Nazis, and KKK not being the sole culprits in the events that transpired over the weekend.

Colbert hit back: "If you were a better president, you would have said something very nice".

Justin also sang on DJ Khaled's I'm The One, which topped the United Kingdom singles chart back in May. Despite canceling his Purpose World Tour, Justin Bieber isn't pressing pause on his music.

To this, Colbert replied: "Oh, Mr. President, there is only one thing I no longer have any doubt about". North, south, Republican, Democrat, top, bottom, sweet, sour.

"They don't need to hold hearings [to investigate the rise of white supremacy]", Colbert added.
