Scaramucci says Trump 'needed to be much harsher' on white supremacists

The author of the memo Rich Higgins who was in the strategic planning office at the NSC was among those recently pushed out

In his first television appearance since being fired last month, Mr Scaramucci told U.S. broadcaster ABC that there were "elements" within the White House trying to eject Mr Trump, and he had "named some names".

National security adviser H.R. McMaster was asked three times by NBC's Chuck Todd on Sunday whether he can work with Bannon in the White House.

"He's got to move more to the mainstream", Scaramucci said.

In the call, Scaramucci went after Bannon, using vulgar language to describe the chief strategist. "He's got to be more into where the moderates are and the independents are, George, that love the president".

During ABC News' livestream interview after This Week, Scaramucci was asked if he believes Bannon is a white supremacist or white nationalist.

"I think there are elements inside of Washington, also inclusive in the White House, that are not necessarily abetting the president's interests or his agenda".

"I think the president knows what he's going to do with Steve Bannon", Scaramucci said. And if he does that, he'll have a very successful legislative agenda that he'll be able to execute.

When Stephanopoulos asked if there was anyone in the White House who would tell Trump the statement had been a mistake, Scaramucci noted that most of Trump's staff "may be reluctant to tell him the truth". "The president has a very good idea of the people who are undermining his agenda, that are serving their own interests", Scaramucci added.

The more blunt comments came from recently ousted White House communications director Anthony Scaramucci, who told ABC that Trump needs to "move away" from Bannon and Breitbart.

"You didn't answer. Can you and Steve Bannon work in that same White House?"

La Liga side desperate to sign Arsenal striker but face tough competition
Deportivo La Coruna are still hopeful of re-signing Arsenal striker Lucas Perez but don't believe they can match competing offers. But with his experience and know-how, he will set the team up to be very hard to beat".

"He has to move away from that sort of "Bannon-bart" nonsense", Scaramucci said, apparently combining Bannon's name with Breitbart, the website that Bannon ran before joining Trump's campaign previous year.

"I believe that everyone in the White House. should be motivated by that goal", he said.

According to the report, Trump has been "irritated" with Bannon following a series of Breitbart reports targeting McMaster.

Scaramucci blasted Bannon in an oft-quoted New Yorker interview that featured the man known as "the Mooch" uttering blue language.

"I think the president knows what he's going to do with Steve Bannon".
