Mom to be charged with attempted murder after AMBER Alert

The woman who allegedly kidnapped her three-year-old daughter in Worcester, triggering an Amber Alert, was apparently trying to kill herself and the child when State Police found them in an idling auto, the exhaust blocked with clothing.

According to the authorities, the baby girl named Ella Abbott's mother Lee-Ann Abbott Rickheit took out her from their home in Worcester, she took her from the home on Wednesday evening around 7:45 p.m. Ella is expected to be with her mother.

Troopers said they found Rickheit and her daughter either sleeping or unconscious in the auto.

State Police explain that when troopers located the auto, Rickheit and her daughter "were in the vehicle, the auto was running, and the tailpipe had been stuffed with clothing, blocking the exhaust".

A MA woman is facing attempted murder charges after apparently kidnapping her daughter and attempting to kill both the girl and herself.

Both Rickheit and Ella were reported to be conscious and responsive afterwards.

Leeann Rickheit was taken by ambulance to St. Vincent's Hospital in Worcester where she was kept under police guard before being transferred to the State Police barracks in Sturbridge.

Rickheit will be arraigned in Dudley District Court.
