Manhunt continues: Officer dead in traffic stop shooting near Kansas City

Ian McCarthy 39 is a person of interest in the fatal shooting of Clinton Mo. Police Officer Gary Michael

The Clinton Police Department has no body camera strategy, however police were working Monday morning to decide whether there was dashcam video from Michael's auto or reconnaissance video from close-by organizations, Lowe said.

Tactical teams have cordoned off the area around the crash and are searching for the suspect Monday.

As Michael exited his vehicle in downtown Clinton, the alleged shooter also got out of his auto and fired once at the officer before fleeing the scene and crashing his vehicle into an embankment about four blocks away, Lowe said.

Investigators found the suspect's crashed vehicle at a nearby intersection; they believe he may still be in Clinton.

Kayleigh McEnany leaves CNN, hosts Trump's 'real news' report, becomes RNC spokeswoman
More than a few critics compared it to the propaganda disseminated by state-run media outlets; McEnany called it "the real news". Feels eerily like so many state-owned channels I've watched in other countries'.

Bill Lowe said in a statement obtained by ABC News that Officer Michael had been with the police force for less than a year when he was shot after pulling over a suspicious vehicle late Sunday night.

Michael was rushed to a local hospital and subsequently succumbed to his gunshot wounds.

"We are saddened and horrified that Officer Gary Michael has been taken from his family, his department and his community". He also could have been under the influence of drugs or alcohol, or not in his right mind for some reason, but "it's hard to say unless we have him here to ask", Lowe said. "He was protecting his community". They have looked through the 39-year-old's home and the encompassing region, Lowe said. "He was not in that house".

About 30 law enforcement agencies in counties surrounding Clinton are augmenting officers from Clinton, Henry County and the patrol. Police do not know if the suspect sustained any injuries during his exchange of gunfire with Michael.

Arsenal Defeats Chelsea In The Community Shield
The Gunners pushed for an equaliser, with Arsene Wenger sending on Olivier Giroud and Theo Walcott for Lacazette and Alex Iwobi. But Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois blazed his kick over the crossbar followed by striker Alvaro Morata also missing.

Area police departments expressed their condolences for the Clinton Police Department on Twitter.

Sergeant Bill Lowe of the Missouri Highway Patrol said the traffic stop was in regard to a registration violation and the vehicles headlights not being on.

Investigators consider McCarthy armed and risky.

"He has already made one killing and decided that's in his mindset", Lowe told The Kansas City Star. "You want to make sure you keep your distance but contact us". "He needs to be apprehended before he harms anyone else". After graduating from Clinton High School, Michael joined the U.S. Army, serving as a military police officer for about five years.

Bolling asked on air if instead of saying "boots on the ground" it would be more appropriate to say "boobs on the ground". Bolling can often be seen aggressively defending Trump on the network, and his loyalty has been repaid.

The suspect, 39-year-old Ian McCarthy, remains on the loose but has been charged with first-degree murder.
