2 babies die in Phoenix after being left in hot cars

Phoenix police Sgt. Mercedes Fortune said Josiah was in the care of his father at the time of his death, police said that baby's father forgot the baby in the auto.

Police say Josiah was discovered dead only after his father drove round trip, twice, between the apartment complex and the church to drop off the mother and a sibling.

No arrests were made.

This is the second case of an infant dying after being left in a hot auto in two days, following the incident Friday involving a 7-month-old boy. The baby was pronounced dead a short time after medical responders arrived.

Family members began gathering at the church to support the parents shortly after it happened.

"We hear that parents are saying they forgot their babies in their vehicles", she said.
