The New York Police Department released a statement on Saturday reiterating their use of force policies after President Donald Trump suggested police officers be more rough with their suspects during a Friday speech to invited law enforcement officers.

"I said please don't be too nice", President Trump said. One man was taken into custody after it was discovered he had been deported from the country on two previous occasions, officials say.

The Suffolk County Police Department wants its cops to know that they shouldn't listen to President Donald Trump's directions. It said the department "has strict rules & procedures relating to the handling of prisoners".

Trump had been addressing law enforcement officials in Brentwood, New York, on Friday when he departed from remarks on his administration's efforts to dismantle the street gang MS-13, and began discussing the way officers lead suspects into police vehicles.

The post continued and stated, "The President's remarks today have set modern policing back and erased a lot of the strides we have made to build trust in our community, but we hope that each of you will recognize the work we have done to earn your trust". Don't hit their head?

Iran accuses U.S. navy of firing warning shots at its vessels
In January, the USS Mahan fired shots toward Iranian fast-attack boats as they neared the destroyer in the Strait of Hormuz. The Navy ship fired warning shots into the water over concerns of a collision, one of the officials said.

But the NYPD was not the only police department to speak out against Trump's Friday remarks encouraging violence against suspects.

The department issued the statement after Trump told police officers "don't be too nice" during a speech that was largely about combating criminal gangs.

And as the President noted in a recent interview with The New York Times, "there are very few Republicans in Baltimore, if any".

TV20 reached out to Officer Tobias who declined to comment.

"Violations of those rules are treated extremely seriously", read a statement from the agency.

As Temple Mount Unrest Grows, Israel-Jordan on Verge of Diplomatic Crisis
Eran said Israeli-Jordanian relations behind the scenes reveal good cooperation, particularly in the areas of security and water. Jordan said initially that the guard could leave only after an investigation, while Israel said he enjoyed diplomatic immunity.

Goff added that Trump's Friday remarks were unsafe because it would make even bystanders less likely to report violent crimes for fear of violent treatment from police. You do something wrong, you're in more jeopardy than they are.

"As a department, we do not and will not tolerate roughing up of prisoners", it said on Twitter. "This is the bedrock principle behind the concepts of procedural justice and police legitimacy".

Trump's visit to his home state of NY came as Sessions was in El Salvador to increase global cooperation against the gang.

"President Trump's speech today was shameful, dangerous, and damages the progress our City has made toward improving police-community relations".

USA sanctions Venezuelan officials to pressure Maduro
The opposition has said that Sunday's vote, which it is boycotting, is a sham created to give Maduro dictatorial powers. Colombia's largest airline Avianca said today that it will cease flying to and from Venezuela beginning on August 16.

Trump's provocations of law enforcement also must be viewed with this in mind: Trump's Department of Justice is charged with enforcing a sweeping consent decree with huge reforms for the city's police department after a federal investigation launched following Gray's death revealed patterns of discriminatory and unconstitutional policing.
